I started work at Scientific
Technologies Corporation on June 16, 2003 as Quality Assurance Manager.
I worked at TCI
Solutions here in Tucson from October 21, 2002 to June 13, 2003 as a Senior QA
Engineer I in the Test Automation Group.
From 1998 to 2002 I worked at NewMonics, a small company here in Tucson.
NewMonics makes a product called PERC(tm) which is a Java-like environment that runs Java
programs in a real-time embedded environment. I started as a software engineer,
then in March 1999 I moved up to team leader for the Libraries group; in July 1999 we
reorganized and I became team leader for the Tools group. As of September 20, 1999 I
became the Software Quality Assurance Manager. My job was to help ensure we shipped
the best product possible by finding bugs (testing) and by preventing bugs (code review
and process issues).
A big chunk of my life (1992-1998) was spent working at Artisoft, makers of LANtastic and other fine
networking, remote communications, and computer telephony products. The group I
worked for at Artisoft has been sold and is now SpartaCom.
My official title was Product Configuration Coordinator. I did configuration
management of both source code (for the Tucson group) and all Artisoft products.
Before Artisoft I worked briefly for the US Army Information Systems
Engineering Command at Ft. Huachua, Arizona. I served as a test director for the
Installation Transition Prototype system and worked on other information systems projects.
Before I worked for the Army I worked for 6 years at the
Naval Ship Weapon Systems Engineering Station (now the Naval Surface Warfare Center) in Port Hueneme,
California. I worked on software maintenance of the TAS Mk 23 radar system and also served
as a VAX system manager. The people at NSWSES (pronounced 'Nemesis' for historical (sort
of) reasons) were fantastic to work with and a credit to the Navy. Some of the ships I
worked on:
